This Sabine's Gull was located on Lake Norman, NC in the wide area formed by the confluence of the "main channel" of the lake and the Davidson Creek branch. In this area, Mecklenburg and Lincoln Counties come together. Over the years, this area of wide water has been a productive spot for migrants.
This is the third Mecklenburg Co. record for Sabine's Gull. A first-year Sabine's Gull was also found on 9/4/95 and on 9/25/03 by David Wright and Taylor Piephoff.
